History will remember the 2020-21 Federal Budget as the COVID-19 Budget.
But what does it mean for Australia’s early childhood education and care parents / families ?
The Federal Budget commits $10.3 billion in funding for Australia’s child care system in 2020–21.
This includes provision for the continued easing of Child Care Subsidy (CCS) activity test requirements until 4 April 2021.
This means eligible families across Australia whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19 can receive up to 100 hours per fortnight of subsidised care.
The aim is to help families return to the level of work, study or training they were undertaking before the pandemic.
