72 Subsidised hours of care fortnightly!
All Families will be eligible for at least 3 Days
Guarantee per Week regardless of their activity
levels*
|
|
How
will this initiative work?
From January 2026,
all families will be eligible for at least 72 hours of
subsidised ECEC per fortnight (3 days per week), regardless of
their activity levels.
Families can still
get 100 hours of subsidised ECEC per fortnight if they meet
activity requirements or have a valid exemption.
Families caring
for a First Nations child will be eligible for 100 hours of
subsidised ECEC per fortnight.
Who
will benefit?
The 3 Day
Guarantee will benefit all families through certainty around
eligibility for subsidised ECEC.
In its first full
financial year the 3 Day Guarantee will benefit around 66,700
families, and more than 100,000 families will be eligible for
additional hours of subsidised care.
Families earning
over $533,280 in 2024-25 are not eligible for subsidised care -
consistent with current settings.

Example of
benefits
Sarah and Alex are
a couple with one child accessing ECEC at 3 days (36 hours) per
week. Their combined family income is $90,000 per annum. Sarah
works full-time and Alex works 8 hours per week.
Previously, they
were eligible for 18 hours of subsidised ECEC per week (36 hours
per fortnight). From January 2026, they are eligible for 36
hours per week (72 hours per fortnight).
This saves them
$230 per week of care ($11,400 per annum) from their provider
charging the average Centre-Based Day Care hourly fee, assuming
one child in care for 36 hours per week 50 weeks per year with
the average projected fee for 2025-26.
For different
family income thresholds, the better off amounts are:
| Annual
income |
Better-off
per week |
Annual
better-off (50 weeks of care) |
| $90,000 |
$230 |
$11,400 |
| $120,000 |
$220 |
$10,630 |
| $140,000 |
$200 |
$10,110 |
How
much will it cost?
The Australian
Government will invest $426.7 million over five years from
2024-25, including implementation costs for Services Australia,
to guarantee eligibility to at least 3 days of subsidised ECEC
each week for children who need it.

Message from the Early Learners Classroom |
|
Dear Families,
My name is Miss
Tanvi, and I am the Lead Educator in the Early Learners room. I
am supported by my dedicated assistant, Miss Ramandeep, who
works closely with me each day to provide a safe, nurturing, and
responsive environment for our youngest learners. It is a true
privilege to support your children during these early and
important months of their development.
Over the past three
months, our focus has been on building strong, trusting
relationships and supporting each child's individual routine and
developmental needs.
The children have
been engaging in a range of sensory-rich experiences, including
tummy time, music and movement, water play, soft art
exploration, and outdoor experiences. We have also been
encouraging early communication through songs, stories,
gestures, and also responsive interactions, while supporting
physical development such as crawling, standing, cruising, and
early walking. It has been a joy to watch the children grow in
confidence as they explore their environment at their own pace.
Looking ahead we
will continue to prioritise secure attachments, predictable
routines, and responsive caregiving. Our plans include
introducing new sensory materials, expanding outdoor
exploration, and supporting emerging independence through
self-feeding, movement, and choice-making. We look forward to
continuing this journey of discovery, growth, and learning
together with your children.
Warm Regards, Miss
Tanvi Early Learners Educator

Message from the Junior Early Years Classroom |
|
Hello families,
In the Junior Early
Years room, we've been focusing on language development to
encourage our little ones to talk and communicate more
confidently. Through fun and engaging activities, the children
are exploring new words and practicing how to express
themselves.
A big part of our
learning has been about colours and animals. We've been naming
different colours and identifying animals, which helps build
vocabulary and sparks curiosity. To support this, the children
engaged in fun flash card games to jog their memory of colours
and animals. They also took part in a group painting experience
where they created a beautiful rainbow together, encouraging
teamwork and creativity.
Prior to Christmas,
we focused on developing gross motor skills and fine motor
skills. The children enjoyed making and manipulating play dough
to create different shapes and objects. We also worked together
on a group art project, using our fine motor skills to carefully
fill in the design with crepe paper. For gross motor skills, the
children participated in daily obstacle courses that challenged
their balance and jumping abilities.
With Christmas just
gone, we were enjoying festive activities like making presents
for our families. The children have loved exploring sensory
trays, including experiencing snow to get a feel for what
Christmas might be like in different parts of the world.

Message from the Seniors Early Years Classroom |
|
Dear Valued Centre
Families,
My name is Miss
Bornali, and I am the educator in the Senior Early Years
classroom. I have completed my Diploma of Early Childhood
Education and Care and am passionate about supporting
children's learning through an academic-focused approach that
prepares them for school.
Over the past few
months, children have been engaging in a variety of experiences
to support their readiness for Kindergarten. These have included
tracing, early writing, arts and crafts, and sensory activities,
all designed to strengthen fine motor skills, early literacy,
creativity, and confidence.
This year, we will
continue to build on these foundations by incorporating more fun
and purposeful learning experiences. These will include early
literacy and numeracy activities, structured group times,
problem-solving tasks, creative art projects, and hands-on
sensory play. We will also focus on building independence,
social skills, and emotional regulation to support a smooth and
confident transition into the Kindergarten classroom.
I look forward to
working closely with your children and supporting their learning
and development throughout the year.
Warm regards, Miss
Boirnali Senior Early Years Educator

Message from the Kindergarten Room |
|
Dear Families,
My name is Miss
Antonietta, and I have 24 years of experience in early
childhood education. I am very much looking forward to
working closely with your children and supporting them
throughout their learning journey this year.
In the Kindergarten
room, we have begun the year by focusing on group experiences
that support children as they settle into the Kindy environment.
These experiences are designed to build confidence, strengthen
social connections, and encourage positive interactions with
peers. Activities such as circle games, dances, and parachute
play have been enjoyed by the children and are helping to foster
cooperation, turn-taking, and a sense of belonging.
Next for the
Kindergarten class, children will be introduced to emergent
writing skills. We will be encouraging each child to attempt
writing their name and to talk about their creations as they
engage in drawing and a variety of art experiences. These
activities support early literacy development, fine motor
skills, and self-expression.
Group time songs
during the first few months will focus on promoting shape
recognition and counting skills, supporting early numeracy
learning in a fun and engaging way.
We look forward to a
wonderful term of learning, growth, and discovery with the
children.
Warm Regards, Mrs
Antonietta Kindergarten Teacher

Message from
the School Care Room |
|
Dear Families,
My name is Miss
Navjot, and I hold a Bachelor of Education and Care.
I am very much looking forward to spending time with your
children and supporting them in a safe, welcoming, and engaging
environment this term.
The school-aged
children have enjoyed a wonderful vacation care program where
they transitioned from structured classroom learning to relaxed
and meaningful exploration. Over the holidays, children
participated in a range of play-based and purposeful
experiences, including hands-on science experiments, STEM
construction challenges, and creative Christmas-themed art
activities that encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and
self-expression.
Wellbeing remained a
strong focus through outdoor play, gross motor games, mindful
movement, and quiet reflection, supporting children's physical
development and emotional regulation. Social skills were
strengthened through group discussions and storytelling,
fostering a strong sense of belonging.
Children also
enjoyed a variety of excursions, including wildlife parks,
sports challenges, nature-based experiences, iPlay, and Bunnings.
I look forward to
continuing children's learning through engaging STEM
experiences, creative arts, outdoor wellbeing activities, and
cultural celebrations. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Warm regards, Miss
Navjot School Care Teacher
