How to Understand Your Child Care Subsidy Assessment |
|
Understanding Your Assessment Notice
Your
assessment notice will have a Child Care Subsidy summary
table on it. The table tells you about the child care fee
assistance you're able to get. The table will have the
following headings:
Child's Name
This will
list any children you've made a claim for.
Subsidy Type
This tells
you what you're eligible for.
If you're
eligible for
Child Care Subsidy, you may also be eligible for
Additional Child Care Subsidy.
Subsidy Percentage
This
is your Child Care Subsidy percentage. We work it out based
on your family income estimate.
Your Child Care Subsidy
percentage will apply to the lowest of either the:
If your subsidy percentage is zero, it means your
family income estimate was $353,680 or more. But it's
important you still submit a claim for this subsidy. Just in
case your income changes when we
balance your payments after
the end of the financial year. If your actual family income
ends up being less than $353,680, we'll pay you the
additional subsidy you're entitled to.
If you're eligible,
but your percentage is zero, you may still be eligible for
Additional Child Care Subsidy.
Read more about how your
family income affects your Child Care Subsidy percentage.
Annual Cap
This tells you if we'll cap your Child Care
Subsidy. This depends on your family income estimate.
There's no annual cap on your subsidy if your family income
estimate was $189,390 or less.
If your estimate was more
than $189,390 and under $353,680, your annual cap is
$10,560. This cap applies to each child in care for each
financial year.
Subsidised Hours Per Fortnight
This is the
number of hours of child care we'll subsidise. We work this
out based on your hours of activity per fortnight. If you
have a partner, we use the lower of your 2 activity levels.
If your subsidised hours is zero, it's because you or your
partner do less than 8 hours of activity.
You need to do at
least 8 hours of activity per fortnight. Recognised
activities include working, training, studying and
volunteering. For example, 4 hours a week of any recognised
activity will give you 18 hours of subsidised care a week.
Read more about
how your activity level affects Child Care
Subsidy.
Withholdings
We withhold 5% of your Child Care
Subsidy each fortnight to reduce the likelihood of an
overpayment. An overpayment could result in a debt after the
end of financial year when we balance your payments.
You're
able to vary this amount to suit your circumstances. You can
do this up to twice a year using your
Centrelink online
account through
myGov. If you'd like to change it more than
this, you'll need to call the
Families line.

Message from the Early Learners Room |
|
Dear
Families of the Early Learners Room,
I would
love to welcome our new friends to the Early Learners
family, Thomas, Alice, Mali, Romeo, Kyrie and Claire. We
hope you all are enjoying making new friendships and it's
evident that you all are developing new skills day to day!
The
children have been very busy these past few months
celebrating different events and working towards their own
milestones, skills and knowledge.
In the
Month of June we had fun exploring all the different animals
in the world such as arctic animals, ocean animals, jungle
animals, farm animals! The children all loved learning about
all the different animals.
Whilst in
July we enjoyed learning about all the basics from numbers,
colours, shapes! In the month of August we are focusing on
the world around us by exploring construction zones,
different transportation vehicles and all about the weather!
We had so many fun activities to explore, from fun sensory
activities to hands-on activities the Early Learners learn
new things every day!
In June,
July and August the children participated in a lot of
different events from Reconciliation Week, YogaDday, Naidoc
Week, Picnic with our teddies, Pyjama Day,Morning tea with
our Aunts and Uncles, to Red Nose Day and enjoying Book Week
fun! We all took part in lots of fun activities to celebrate
these events. What a fun-filled few months it has been in our
Early Learners Room.
Thank you,
Miss Emily and Miss Bell. |
Message from the Early Years Room |

Welcome
Parents, Caregivers and Friends of the Early years Room.
We would
like to firstly welcome our new friends that have started
with us, as well as our friends that have moved up from our
Jnr Classroom Luna, Enzo, Taylah and Benny.
In our
Early Years class this term we have continued to encourage
self help skills through making and packing away our beds,
packing away resources, taking shoes off and putting them
back on when going outside and packing away after meal
times.
During our
gyarning times we have focused on expanding more on the
children's colours, numbers and shape identification as well
as encouraging them to say their full names during
transition times. It has been exciting observing the
children's creativity and joining in during role play as
they share their wide and creative imagination through play.
In each
month the children have also enjoyed joining in with the
various celebration days through arts and crafts, games,
dressing up, role playing, singing and dancing with friends.
This month we have focused on the children's interest in
bugs and insects through a lot of sensory play and look
forward to continuing our exploring of bugs and insects in
our garden as we plant new plants in the coming weeks.
Thank you,
Miss Jody, Mr Hayden, Miss Toni and Miss Taylah.

Message from the Pre Prep / Kindergarten Room |
|
Welcome Valued Families to our Pre-Prep News.
In Pre-Prep, during the month of May we explored diversity and
being respectful of one another as we observde Reconciliation
Week. We learnt about Aboriginal symbols and did our white chalk
representations of these. Comparing the symbols and our
Alphabet, we learnt that there are many ways to communicate. In
June and July we got a lot of new resources as part of our
Kindergarten Program and these resources were to support and
extend children's learning and development in the areas of their
observed interests. We are learning to look after our new
resources and overall our environment.
In July we also focused on NAIDOC celebrations and extended our
learning on diversity. We did songs, dances and art that related
to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We also had
Uncles and Aunties day with visitors coming into our centre. In
August we will continue to explore literacy through reading
books, watching stories and exploring letters and letter sounds.
We have also been reflecting and writing in our journals,
working on our fine motor skills and engaging in fun ways to
develop our gross motor skills using our tunnel, skateboards and
stilt buckets both indoor and outdoors.
Our science area was busy exploring how seeds grow in soil and
then how water, sun and good care is needed for plants to grow.
We will take our learning outdoors when it gets warmer to have
some hands on learning in our centre garden.
Thank you, Miss Nilusha and Miss Anthya.
