Early
Learners
Welcome
Families to our Early Learners Room! We have had a wonderful
past few months in our room as all of the children have
reached milestones and continuing tolerant, grow and play.
We have engaged in a lot of sensory play, exploring
different textures, playing with bubbles, as well as having
fun with water and sand. We have had so much fun dancing and
singing to many nursery rhymes. We focused on the different
types of animals such as Australian animals in recognition
of Australia Day. We have fare welled some friends who have
moved up to Junior Early Years, as well as welcoming new
friends and families to the centre. We love interacting with
your children and watching as they continue to grow,
develop, and reach milestones. We are very excited for the
coming months as our centre celebrates upcoming events! If
you have any questions or ideas please feel free to let us
know!
Thank you,
Miss Cheri and Miss Benita.
Junior Early Years
Welcome to
Junior Early Years Room! We have had so much fun and engaged
in lots of learning experiences during December, January and
February. The children made lovely Christmas gifts for their
families and learnt some new Christmas songs. During
January, we focused on Australian animals which related to
our Australia Day theme. We also continued developing our
skills in colour recognition, letters, numbers and shapes.
During
February, the children began familiarizing themselves with a
range of different body parts, naming their own eyes,
mouths, noses, and ears. Most of the children showed an
interest in dinosaurs, which supported their learning as we
explored the topic through a range of experiences and
investigations. The children have also been working on
developing pencil and hand grip through scissor and
colouring activities.
Thank you,
Miss Jill, Miss Maddison and Miss Torrie.
Early Years
Welcome
Parents, Caregivers and Friends to our first Newsletter for
the Year! In the Early Years Room during December, we
focused on helping some of our friends who transitioned up
to the Pre-Prep room as well as continuing our learning of
basic shapes, colours and numbers. We also joined in on our
Christmas celebrations through singing, listening to
Christmas songs and plenty of arts and crafts.
Over the
past few months, we have celebrated some exciting events, we
joined in celebrating Australia Day through pictures,
decorations, easel painting and listening to Australian
songs and singing along to the Australian National Anthem.
We have celebrating 'Waitangi day' with our friends through
art work, various activities as well as traditional music.
We have had so much fun during 'Chinese new year' and
sharing our love to our families During 'Valentine day'
celebrations.
Each we
week during these months we have continued with the learning
of our shapes, colours, numbers and enhanced our self-help
skills through toilet training, making our beds and packing
away after meals and play. We are looking forward to start
identifying our names and expand our learning of our shapes,
colours and numbers as well as extending on the children
interests each day.
We would
like to thank all our families for your continued support,
if you have any input or ideas for our learning programming
please fell free speak to one of us as we love to hear from
you!
Thank you,
Miss Christina, Miss Michelle and Mr. Hayden.
Pre-Prep
Welcome to
our Pre-Prep families, existing, new and families of the
children who have transitioned up from the Early Years Room
in January. We look forward to building strong and positive
relationships with your children as we assist in preparing
them for school in 2022.
December
saw a month full of fun, Christmas crafts, activities, and
new traditions in thePre-Prep. We embedded Advent Reading,
which is a tradition where Miss Courtney wrapped Christmas
themed books and each day a different child was able to
unwrap a book that we then read together as a class. The
children also made lots of wonderful gifts for their
families that were greatly appreciated.
During
January, we fare welled our Pre-Prep's that ventured off to
big school and welcomed some new friends. We spent some time
getting to know one another and embedding new routines
before we started focusing on our Kindergarten curriculum
for the year. Each week the children will explore a new
letter, number, shape and colour which will assist in
building upon foundational academic skills required for
formal schooling.
We have
also engaged in a number of celebrations such as Australia
Day, Waitangi Day, Chinese New Year, and Valentine's Day.
During these celebrations, the children engaged in
discussions as well as craft activities in recognition of
different cultures and traditions.
During the
month of February, the Pre-Prep class participated in a
'containers for change' recycling program. The funds raised
will go towards setting up a vegetable garden at the centre
- the 'Kidi Kingdom Community Patch', which will provide
families with access to fresh herbs and vegetables. This is
a great sense initiative and will help teach the children
about the importance of recycling, sustainability, as well a
living things that you can find in garden soil. Any
donations of 10 cent recyclable containers will kindly be
accepted into the pink tub at the front of the centre.
Thank you,
Miss Courtney & Miss Kara.
Before and
After School Care / Vacation Care
A big
welcome to 2021 to our Before, After School Care and
Vacation Care Families! During December and January, we had
a number of children attend Vacation Care. The children
participated in several excursions including bowling,
Robelle Domain Water Park, Flagstone Adventure Park, and Bob
Gamble Park. The children displayed great teamwork and
communication skills and built some wonderful friendships
with one another. We look forward to having all of our
schoolies return forthe Kidi Kingdom Easter Vacation Care in
April.
In
January, the children returned back to school after a great
holiday break. We welcomed some new Before and After School
Care children who were Pre-Prep's children in 2020 and have
been building new relationships and getting to know one
another while transitioning into Before and After School
care routines. Our educators look forward to continuing to
build relationships with our schoolies and their families in
2021.
Thank
you, Miss Sandy.
