Understanding Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Eligibility and Rates |
Who Can Get CSS?
To be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families must meet
the following criteria:
-
Parents must:
-
Care
for their child for at least 2 nights per fortnight or
have a 14% share of care.
-
Be
liable for child care fees at an approved child care
service.
-
Meet
residency requirements.
-
Your child must:
-
Meet
immunisation requirements.
-
Not
be attending secondary school (unless an exemption
applies).
-
Be
13 years old or younger (except in certain
circumstances). If a child does not attend a session of
care at least once every 26 consecutive weeks, they will
lose their CCS eligibility.
If the child
starts attending care again, the family can make a new claim for
CCS.
How Much CCS Can a Family Get?
The amount
of CCS a family can receive depends on their circumstances:
-
Income
Limit: Families with a combined income up to $533,280 are
eligible for CCS. The subsidy amount decreases as income
increases.
-
CCS
Rates from 8 July 2024:
-
Family income $0 to $83,280: 90%
-
Family income more than $83,280 to below $533,280:
Subsidy decreases from 90% by 1% for every $5,000 of
additional income.
-
Family income $533,280 or more: 0%
Number of Children in Care
Families
with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can receive a
higher subsidy for their second and younger children. The rates
for each child are calculated using two separate income tests:
-
Standard Rate Child:
Usually the eldest CCS-eligible child aged 5 or under,
receiving the standard CCS rates.
-
Higher Rate Child:
The second and any younger children aged 5 or under, who
receive a higher subsidy.
The higher
subsidy for second and younger children will end when the
family's income reaches $362,408 or more.

Message from the Educational Leader |
Dear Valued
Centre Families,
A warm welcome
to all the new families joining us this term. We are excited to
watch your children grow and to support them on their journey.
We look forward to nurturing special connections with each child
and fostering strong bonds among them.
At Kidi
Kingdom Pimpama, our educational programming includes a variety
of engaging excursions and incursions for the children. Our
Kindergarten children have been enhancing their water knowledge
through weekly swimming lessons. Additionally, we host weekly
sports sessions to develop the children's gross motor skills,
such as kicking and throwing, while also building teamwork
skills. The recent excursion to Bunnings was a highlight,
allowing the children to learn and bring home souvenirs.
We believe
that children's learning and development are maximized through
collaboration with educators, families, and the community. We
welcome suggestions from families on topics and life skills you
would like your child to learn. Our centre is committed to
providing a welcoming and nurturing environment, prioritizing
your child's health, safety and wellbeing.
We'd like to
remind families that HubHello offers an opportunity to leave
comments on posts, observations, and news feeds. While it may
sometimes be challenging to speak directly with your child's
educators, this platform ensures you can communicate
effectively. We are here to support you and your child
throughout their early childhood journey and value your ongoing
communication and feedback.
Please feel
free to chat with us during pickups or drop offs to continue a
smooth transition from home to daycare. If you wish to discuss
any concerns or suggestions in detail, you are welcome to
schedule a meeting.

Message from the Early Years Room |
Dear Valued
Families of the Early Years Room,
My name is
Jadzeah and I am thrilled to be the new lead educator in the
Early Years Room.
We are excited
to share some of the wonderful activities your children have
been involved in over the past three months!
As I take the
time to get to know your wonderful children and help them adjust
to our new routines, I am excited to share that this month's
theme is all about sea life! In June, our little explorers
embarked on a fascinating journey into the world of dinosaurs.
The children enjoyed learning about these magnificent creatures
through interactive lessons and a variety of dinosaur themed
crafts. From creating their own dinosaur masks to building dino
habitats, it was a month full of creativity and discovery.
In July,
brought a cozy and creative twist with our PJ Day celebration.
The children expressed their artistic flair by coloring in
pyjamas as part of their art activities. It was a delightful way
to combine comfort and creativity, and the kids had a blast
showing off their colorful designs.
In August, we
dived into the fascinating world of the ocean. Our
activities included creative craft projects that explore
various sea animals and their habitats, hands-on sensory play
with textures and materials inspired by the ocean, and
discovering and mimicking the intriguing sounds made by
different sea creatures.
Thank you for
your continued support. We look forward to more exciting
activities and learning opportunities for your children in the
coming months!
Kind Regards,
Miss Jadzeah and Miss Sowmya Early Years Educators.

Message from
the Senior Early Years Room |
Dear Valued
Families of the Senior Early Years Room,
We're excited
to share the latest adventures from our classroom!
The last three
months, our theme has been all about helping children understand
the world around them in fun and meaningful ways. We've been
exploring three exciting topics: the weather, emotions and the
days of the week. Here is a peek into what our little learners
have been up to!
Weather
Wonders: The weather is a fascinating subject for young minds
and we have been diving into it headfirst! Through interactive
activities, the children have been learning to identify
different types of weather-sunny, rainy, cloudy, and snowy. We
have been singing weather songs, creating weather charts, and
even acting out what we might wear in different weather
conditions. This hands on approach not only makes learning fun
but also helps children understand how weather affects their
daily lives.
Understanding
Emotions: Emotional intelligence is just as important as
academic learning and we have been helping the children identify
and express their feelings in healthy ways. Through stories,
games and roleplay, we have been talking about emotions like
happiness, sadness, anger and surprise. The children are
learning that it's okay to feel a range of emotions and that
talking about their feelings can help them manage them better.
Days of the
Week: Learning the days of the week is a big milestone and we
have been making it an enjoyable journey. Through catchy songs
and daily routines, the children are becoming familiar with the
names and order of the days. We have been using visual aids like
calendars and day of the week charts to reinforce this learning.
Every morning we try to sing the "Days of the Week" song. The
children love it.
Thank you for
your continued support in your child's educational journey. We
look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon!
Kind Regards,
Miss Sinead and Miss Ellie Senior Early Years Educators.

-
Letter T: Constructing turtles using paper plates.
Alongside
these fun projects, the children practiced writing their names,

COOKING WITH CHILDREN!
Fairy Bread Fudge. |
|
How to Make this Recipe |
Follow steps bellow: |
|
This pretty
pink and white fudge covered in hundreds and thousands makes all
your fairy bread dreams come true. It's easy to make and will
keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks - if it doesn't get eaten
before then, that is! This recipe does require 7 hours
refrigeration so make sure you start it well ahead of serving.
Ingredients
-
395g can
sweetened condensed milk.
-
2 x 180g
blocks white chocolate, chopped.
-
40g butter
-
Red liquid
food coloring.
-
1 tsp
vanilla essence.
-
Hundreds &
thousands, to decorate.
Method
Step 1
Line a 19cm
(base) square cake pan with foil, allowing sides to overhang.
Place 1/2 the condensed milk, 1/2 the chocolate and 1/2 the
butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring
constantly, until melted and smooth.
Step 2
Remove from
the heat and add a few drops of food coloring. Stir until evenly
combined. Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
Refrigerate for 1 hour or until just firm.
Step 3
Repeat the
process with remaining condensed milk, chocolate and butter.
Stir in vanilla. Pour over the pink layer in the pan and smooth
the surface. Sprinkle with hundreds & thousands and gently press
to secure. Refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.
Step 4
Cut into small
squares to serve (take care handling the fudge as it will be
soft). Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
