Understanding Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Eligibility and Rates |
Who Can Get CSS?
To be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families must meet
the following criteria:
-
Parents must:
-
Care
for their child for at least 2 nights per fortnight or
have a 14% share of care.
-
Be
liable for child care fees at an approved child care
service.
-
Meet
residency requirements.
-
Your child must:
-
Meet
immunisation requirements.
-
Not
be attending secondary school (unless an exemption
applies).
-
Be
13 years old or younger (except in certain
circumstances). If a child does not attend a session of
care at least once every 26 consecutive weeks, they will
lose their CCS eligibility.
If the child
starts attending care again, the family can make a new claim for
CCS.
How Much CCS Can a Family Get?
The amount
of CCS a family can receive depends on their circumstances:
-
Income
Limit: Families with a combined income up to $533,280 are
eligible for CCS. The subsidy amount decreases as income
increases.
-
CCS
Rates from 8 July 2024:
-
Family income $0 to $83,280: 90%
-
Family income more than $83,280 to below $533,280:
Subsidy decreases from 90% by 1% for every $5,000 of
additional income.
-
Family income $533,280 or more: 0%
Number of Children in Care
Families
with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can receive a
higher subsidy for their second and younger children. The rates
for each child are calculated using two separate income tests:
-
Standard Rate Child:
Usually the eldest CCS-eligible child aged 5 or under,
receiving the standard CCS rates.
-
Higher Rate Child:
The second and any younger children aged 5 or under, who
receive a higher subsidy.
The higher
subsidy for second and younger children will end when the
family's income reaches $362,408 or more.

Message from the Junior Early Learning Room |
Dear Valued
Families of the Junior Early Years Room,
I would like
to extend a warm welcome to everyone to the Junior Early Years
Room. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Sonia along with
co educator Navpreet. I have been working in the early childhood
industry sector for the past 5 years.
It has been a
wonderful few months in Our Junior Early Learning Room, full of
fun and learning. Our little ones have been busy exploring and
discovering the world around them. In the room we have been
focusing on developing language and cognitive development
skills.
Our friends
have been reading books, singing songs, dancing to songs and
engaging in all the experiences we have planned based on the
children's emerging skills. The children are building their
relationships with their peers and educators. We are also
focusing on learning numbers, alphabet and shapes.
Over the next
few months, we will be focusing on sea animals and where they
live, about the ocean and we will also focus on upcoming
cultural events also. Our learning goals for this month will
include colour naming, fruit names and colour sorting games.
Kind Regards,
Miss Maria and Miss Navpreet Junior Early Years Educators

Message from the Senior Early Years Room |
Dear Valued
Families of the Senior Early Years Room,
Firstly, I
would like to introduce myself. My name is Annu, and I am
thrilled to be the Lead Educator in the Senior Kindy Room. With
six years of experience in early childhood education, I am
passionate about nurturing young minds and helping them grow.
Alongside my wonderful co educator, Miss Amber, we warmly
welcome all our new and existing families to our room.
We have had
some truly wonderful experiences with the children recently. In
July, we celebrated several events including Naidoc Week, Teddy
Bears Picnic, Pyjama Day and Aunty and Uncle Morning Tea. It is
a joy to see the children so engaged and happy during these
celebrations.
Looking ahead, we will be celebrating National Aboriginal Torres
Strait Islanders Children's Day. We are also planning more
activities to mark various events in the coming months.
We carefully
design experiences that encourage children to develop a healthy
self-concept and positive self-esteem. By recognizing and
celebrating their individual strengths and interests, we help
them build confidence and a strong sense of self-worth.
Our commitment
is to ensure that every child feels valued, supported, and
empowered to explore their potential. Kind Regards,
Miss Annu and
