The Importance of Food Safety and Hygiene!
We take
Food Safety and Hygiene practices very seriously
here at Kidi Kingdom Child Care Centres to ensure our
children receive the best practices possible in safe
handling and consumption of food in our centres.
To ensure
we meet all food safety and hygiene requirements, our
Team is committed to focusing on the monitoring,
implementation and safe practices associated with all
food related activities. Our strong commitment has earnt
us a 5 Star food safety rating at our centre kitchens
for excellent food safety practices.
The
focused concerns surrounding food safety practices are
foodborne illnesses that are preventable. These illnesses
are a burden on public health and contribute
significantly to the cost of health care. They also
present a major challenge to certain groups of people.
Although anyone can get a foodborne illness, some people
are at greater risk. For example: In the early childhood
industry, children younger than age 4 have the highest
incidence of laboratory-confirmed infections from some
foodborne pathogens, including Campylobacter,
Cryptosporidium, Salmonella, Shiga toxin-producing
Escherichia coli O157, Shigella and Yersinia. Safer food
promises healthier, longer lives, less costly health
care especially for our little ones experiencing new
foods, acquiring food likes, food dislikes and
preventing allergies.
At Kidi
Kingdom Child Care Centres we pride ourselves on
providing the most up to date resources to our Teachers
& Educators, with the freedom and support to focus on
what they need to do and achieve High Quality service to
our families. As we facilitate training throughout our
centres, food safety training and hygiene practices are
high on our agenda of goals and values to ensure our
children remain safe whilst consuming our nutritionally
based meals cooked and served fresh every day at the
centres.
This is
our promise to our families as we are serving as a role
model of child care excellence on a global level..
