1. Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

Kidi Kingdom Childcare services develop their programming using the “Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).  This is the Australian Government’s national framework for Early Childhood Education and defines the principles, practices and outcomes essential to every early learning program.  It is designed to ensure that all children, from birth to five years of age, receive high quality experiences designed to further their learning and development.

The Framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning and aims to achieve five overall Learning Outcomes:

  • Children have a Strong Sense of identity.

  • Children are Connected with and Contribute to their World.

  • Children have a Strong Sense of Wellbeing.

  • Children are Confident and Involved Learners.

  • Children are Effective Communicators.

At Kidi Kingdom Childcare Services we create programs that build on children’s interests and abilities, and introduces and reinforces important concepts in a way that works best for them, i.e. language, maths, science, environment, art, health and social awareness

If you would like more information about the Early Years Learning Framework you can download the Families Guide  here.

2. How to Prepare your Child for Childcare

The best way to prepare your child/ren for childcare is to get excited with them about starting a new stage in their lives.  First days can be tough for both parents and children, so it’s natural for you and your child to feel anxious about what will happen.

Our team at Kidi Kingdom Childcare services recognises what a big step it is to trust your child in the care of others and we are more than happy to do what we can to ease your reservations during this time.  Including, making a telephone call home on the first day to reassure caregivers that their child is safe and secure and happy.

At the end of each day you can talk to your Child’s Lead and / or Assistant Educator, and of course you are welcome to read through observations to get a feel for how well your child is adapting to the change.

3. Transitioning Rooms

At Kidi Kingdom Childcare Services each of our centre’s classrooms cater for different ages and stages of development.  When children are at the right age, your child’s Lead Educator will assess your child’s readiness to transition based on their social and emotional development.  Our Lead Educators will then discuss with you whether or not you both feel that your child has developed sufficiently, and whether or not you both think that your child is ready to transition to the next classroom.

During this process our team will work closely with other early learning professionals and parents to ensure a successful move between rooms, with as limited disruptions as possible. Some children might need a little more time than others to transition, visiting the room for small but increasing amounts of time, whereas other children welcome a new classroom structure.  Transitioning between classrooms is an important part of your child’s learning and development and most children become very excited about moving on up.
