EARLY
LEARNERS - Families of the Early Learners Room. What
another awesome month with heaps of fun activities and
expanding of friends. We would like to welcome Isabel to the
Kidi Kingdom family, may your friendships start and your
milestones grow. Our interest this month are activities
based off of "We're Going on A Bear Hunt" which means more
exploring on sensory play and adventures. We will be
planning the nature scape adventure soon to further the
children's knowledge while their interests grow on this
topic. Parent's please make sure to bring back the
permission form. If you have any questions or ideas please
don't hesitate to speak with both Miss Kit and I, as we are
always looking for parent input.
Thank you
Miss Taneeka and Miss Kit.
JUNIOR
EARLY YEARS - Dear Families of the Junior Early Years
room, welcome to a wonderful month. We all hope your
children are enjoying the love of learning with us. Thank
you to Braxton and his family along with a few other
families within the centre for their wonderful contribution
of the Woolworths Discovery Garden of different types of
herbs, vegetables and flowers. We have had a wonderful time
learning about the garden and how things grow and where they
come from.
We have
also been watching short shows with "Blippi". It is an
educational program to guide children with the healthy
choices and to show them how things are made. They have
really enjoyed this program. We have been working with the
children on their independence as they grow by concentrating
on their literacy to form their communication skills. As
both Miss Chrystle and myself find that this is a major part
in their development. It incorporates a range of modes of
communication including music, movement, dance, storytelling
and visual arts. As the children are learning we are
developing our numbers and letter recognition, we are slowly
achieving this with number blocks, cards, books and counting
within the room.
Don't
forget now that the weather is warming up please remember to
pack different types of sheets, all we need now is a fitted
sheet and a small sheet to pop over the top as we have the
air condition on and the fans and it can get a little cold
while the children are asleep and not moving. Also making
sure we have our hats and drink bottles clearly labelled
please.
Thank you
Miss Chrystle and Miss Natalie.
EARLY
YEARS - Dear families! Welcome to another month in the
Early Years room. We have continued exploring our 5 senses
and have begun engaging in activities to help our gross
motor development. Our favourite game in the classroom is
Ball in the Basket where the children have enjoyed cheering
each other on and learning to aim. We have extended this
experience by initiating a basketball hoop from outside. As
we approach a new month, we begin looking at new interests
the children are developing. We have observed their interest
in babies, as the interest grows, we will extend with a
caring for babies project. The children have been well
engaged at group times as we practice singing our ABC's and
counting from 1 to 15.
We would
also like to Welcome Miss Toa to the classroom, you may see
her in the Early Years Room quite a lot as she is working
closely with them until the end of the year.
We would
like to welcome Aaliyah to our room, she has recently moved
up from the Junior Early Years Room. A big Happy Birthday to
Paige, Adrian and Richan who have all turned the big 3 years
old! Wishing you the happiest of Birthdays.
Thank you,
Miss Angela, Miss Mahla.
SENIOR
EARLY YEARS - Dear Families of the Senior Early Years
Room. We can't believe that we are almost at the end of yet
another amazing year. Firstly, I would like to welcome all
of our new children and their families to our centre here at
Kidi Kingdom Springfield. This month in the room we have
been out on a few excursions, we visited the strawberry farm
and our local supermarket Woolworth's where the children
took part in a discovery tour to learn about healthy eating.
Throughout the month the children have helped change the
room around to help stimulate change of environment from
this experience we have learnt to work together as a class
and take on tasks as well as focus a lot more on our
learning. The children have been taking an interest in
learning about gardening and recycling in the upcoming
weeks, We have organised an excursion to Bunnings to further
the children's interest in gardening. We will also be
visiting a Recycling Centre at Logan to further the
children's interest in learning about recycling. As the
children's interest grows, we will be looking into creating
a worm farm with the children to encourage using our left overs and use them as a form of compost for the garden.
Thank you
Miss Jess and Miss Alyssa.
PRE-PREP
- Welcome to another fun filled month in the Pre-Prep Room.
This last month we have continued with learning Japanese,
Germs, Gardening and how to look after our own belongings.
QKLG Identity - Acting with increasing independence and
perseverance.
Our
Vegetable garden at the service is growing extremely well
due to the care the children are showing when tending the
garden. Our Excursion to Bunnings was a wonderful experience
where we looked at different plants to plant into our
vegetable garden. Miss Desleigh bought Corn, Marigolds,
Cherry Tomatoes and a large sunflower. QKLG -
Connectedness - Showing respect for environments - caring
for the kindergarten and exploring interactions between
people and environments.
Literacy in
the room currently is concentrating on Upper- and Lower-case
letter recognition - this is important for children to recognise these as they begin to write. We are also clapping
out how many sounds are in our names this enables us to
practice learning to spell when we get to school. Miss
Desleigh is encouraging those children interested in
spelling using some sight word cards to enable children's
interests and needs to be catered for. We are also starting
up our visits to Woodcrest Primary School Library, where the
children are getting used to going over to a big school and
see the type of environment it has. QKLG- Communicating -
Exploring and engaging with literacy in personally
meaningful ways.
Numeracy in the room is concentrating on
number recognition and counting correctly. Miss Desleigh has
made up some games to help with developing this important
skill. We also use it when we are cooking and measuring
items and planting out our seedlings in the garden. QKLG-
Communicating - Exploring Numeracy in personally meaningful
ways.
With the children getting closer to starting school
next year we are implementing them to be independent and
have the resilience necessary for big school, children must
be responsible for bringing a hat and water bottle each day.
We are also going to ask parents from the first week of
November to prepare a small lunch box so children are able
to learn the skills necessary on important healthy foods and
the right times to eat. The skills necessary to open the
child's own containers and food packages are very important
life skills necessary for school. We will do up a flyer on
what types of things to pack in your child's lunch box.
Graduation is on the 27th November 2019. Please keep this
date free :) We are very busy practicing our songs and dance
routines and hope you and your family really enjoy the evening. We would also like to welcome our new friend Ava to
our room.
If you have anything you think we would like to
include in our program or can help in anyway, we would
welcome your input. Until next month, warm regards from Miss Desleigh and Miss Hope.
Vacation Care / School Care -
Welcome to
the Schoolies corner. We have all made a smooth transition
back to school over the past week and have enjoyed
reconnecting with our friends and teachers. We have enjoyed
our vacation care adventures and are looking forward to the
many fun events in the weeks to come. First up we are going
to start exploring Halloween and using the children's ideas
to plan our experiences and activities. We will investigate
what we know about Halloween and any other additional
information the children would like to know and use play
activities to discover new facts about Halloween. We will
also enjoy many hands-on sensory experiences through our
investigation of Halloween. Could everyone please remember
to bring a hat and a water bottle with them every day, so we
are able to fully utilise the outdoor play spaces in the
afternoons. If you have any questions or would like to
suggest a fun Halloween activity, please come and speak to
either Miss Sarah or Miss Erika at the front desk.
Thanks Miss
Sarah.
